October 1, 2015 had been declared by the International Coffee Organization (ICO) as the celebration of the first official International Coffee Day. The 75 member states of the ICO which includes the Philippines and dozens of associations and businesses will be celebrating coffee’s journey of diversity, quality and passion.
Previously, International Coffee Day was celebrated unofficially on September 29 which coincides with the United State’s National Coffee Day. In the Philippines, Essential Brands Group SEA celebrated the declared Philippines National Coffee Day on October 21.
I Luv Coffee‘s National Coffee Day 2014 celebration includes a very personal event with bloggers to introduce the importance of coffee and the country and the commitment of EBG SEA in promoting the genuine coffee experience. Among the guests was Cornel Bongco, who is known for his coffee talks on TV at 700 Club Asia. Coffee stories were also submitted and published to signify how coffee influenced the life of Filipinos.

International Coffee Day is an event to promote and celebrate coffee as a beverage, with events now occurring in places across the world. International Coffee Day will be launched in Milan. This day is also used to promote fair trade coffee and to raise awareness for the plight of the coffee growers.

Some businesses share coupons and special deals with their loyal followers via social networking. Some greeting card companies sell National Coffee Day greeting cards as well as free e-cards to help celebrate the occasion.
